Biography of Gayle L Troutwine:

Gayle L Troutwine graduated from the U. of Missouri at Kansas City School of Law in 1978. The first year after, she clerked for a trial judge in Independence then entered private practice as an associate for a Jackson County firm. In 1983 she relocated to the west where she was admitted to practice in Or (’83), WA (’84) and HI (’95). Throughout the 80’s and ‘90s Troutwine represented consumers profoundly injured by pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, food and food supplements, medical devices, blood and blood products. Twice federal judges appointed her to serve as plaintiffs’ counsel in multi-district litigation. Troutwine was Governor on the Boards of the Oregon State Bar, the Western Trial Lawyers Assoc., the Oregon Trial Lawyers Assoc., the Campaign for Equal Justice, the Oregon Women’s Political Caucus and the American Trial Lawyers Assoc. Until her semi-retirement at the end of the century, Troutwine was a frequent guest lecturer and speaker; and she has over 50 professional publications.

          In 1999, at age 47 and unmarried, Troutwine became a mother when the Chinese government allowed her to adopt a 2.5 yr. old girl. Although semi-retired, Troutwine continued professional activities working as a community mediator and representing clients with community association disputes. In 2004, Troutwine returned to Missouri and became a graduate student at MU’s Gender Studies program; and, attended the LLM program in Dispute Resolution. She also represented neighborhood associations in planning and zoning disputes in Columbia, MO, Boone County and the surrounds.

          In 2005, Troutwine returned to the active full time practice of law and opened an office in Osage Beach, Missouri. Her practice areas focus on community association matters, real estate matters and foreign adoptions. 

          Martindale-Hubbell gave Gayle L Troutwine the highest rank. She has been listed in Who’s Who in America, Best Trial Lawyers in America and Who’s Who in American Law.
